Neighborhood Spotlight – Over the next several weeks, we are teaming up with a few other local churches in an effort to serve our community together. We spent the last week prayer walking the community to help prepare the hearts of the people. Next week, we will go through the community immediately adjacent to Del Rio with a brief 3-question survey to help us to determine the greatest needs there. Next, we’ll coordinate a plan to help meet that need and trust the Lord to move in tremendous ways. As we help to meet physical needs, our hope is that we will have opportunities for spiritual conversations and meeting spiritual needs as well. This is the work of ministry that God calls His church to do! Please begin praying now for this endeavor.
This week we’ll be going out Wednedsay, August 2 from 6-7pm & Saturday, August 5 from 10:30am-12pm knocking on doors and conducting the spiritual survey. We’ll be starting in the Del Rio parking lot both days, please connect with Pastor Trace if you’re interested in joining us!
Group Life Membership Class – Our next Group Life membership class will be offered TODAY, Sunday, July 30th right after service. This is the first step in becoming a member at Pillar and covers the basics of who we are as a church. If you’re interested, please talk with Pastor Trace ASAP. Lunch will be provided.
Completing the class does not automatically make you a member of Pillar Church, but the class is a prerequisite for those who wish to go through the membership process. Our goal is that by the conclusion of the course, you will have a clear understanding of the beliefs, direction, and structure of our church family, as well as knowledge of the benefits and expectations of membership with Pillar Church.
Come Hungry – Our next Come Hungry is scheduled for next Sunday, August 6, at Melba Bishop Park, directly after service. It will be hosted by Keanu Zavala and Taliek Brown, and they’ll be serving up carne asada. We’ll also be setting up cornhole to get ready for our tournament at the end of August. Bring a side dish or dessert to share and be ready to fellowship together! Please note, that next week is also BIG SUNDAY, but we will not be doing potluck breakfast. Save your appetite for lunch at the park!
Every summer we enjoy a time of food and fellowship every other Sunday through August! This is a time of year when we get to enjoy eating, playing games, and getting to know each other. Each Come Hungry will be “hosted” by a family in the church who will choose the theme and provide the main dish. Everyone else will bring a side dish, dessert, or drinks to share with the group.
Members’ Meeting – We will be holding our quarterly members’ meeting Sunday, August 13th following service (no lunch, we’re planning on a relatively quick gathering). This meeting is for those who are official members of the church and those who are in the membership process as well.

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the word and genuine fellowship. For more information or to sign up contact:
