Prayer Focus of the Week: Obedience-Based Discipleship
Scripture Reading: 1 John 4:7–21 (ESV)
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
Worship Songs:
One Thing Remains
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant in the trial and the change
One thing remains
One thing remains
Your love never fails
It never gives up
Never runs out on me
On and on and on and on it goes
It overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never ever have to be afraid
One thing remains
One thing remains
Lord I Need You
Lord I come I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
And without You I fall apart
You’re the one that guides my heart
Lord I need You oh I need You
Ev’ry hour I need You
My one defense my righteousness
Oh God how I need You
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus You’re my hope and stay
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus You’re my hope and stay

Safe Families for Children – Safe Families for Children provides short-term hostings to children whose parents are experiencing crises. Volunteers motivated by compassion create an extended family-like support system for desperate families in order to keep children safe and families intact. SFFC mobilizes faith communities to be a host family, supportive friend, or champion in order to change one child’s life at a time. Today during service, Missy Bell, a Safe Families representative, will be sharing more information about the organization and our ministry here at Pillar. For more information or questions about Safe Families or the Pillar Safe Families ministry, contact Ministry Leader, Adri Furtado 760-429-5292 or Missy Bell 619-291-9347 x1807 or [email protected].
Pillar Kids – As restrictions continue to get lifted and many schools are opening back up, we’re looking ahead to when we start moving back inside and opening our own classrooms! We are looking to start training for our Seedlings & Saplings classroom (ages 0-PreK), and potentially our Treehouse class (grades K-5). We’ve had a lot of volunteers move away, so it’s all hands on deck! Would you consider volunteering once a month to help serve the children of Pillar Church? For more information, please contact Kristy Martinez at [email protected].
Life Groups – Life Groups will be on a break for an additional week and the next session will begin the week of March 28th.
