Prayer Focus of the Week: Deployed Family Members

Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 4:12-19 (ESV):

12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And

“If the righteous is scarcely saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

Announcements

Gospel & Grub – Pastor Trace has challenged us to go out among the lost to begin taking steps toward an evangelistic lifestyle. This is the call God has on each of our lives, and the elders would like to ensure that there are opportunities to grow in this area. This Sunday we’ll be participating in this challenge through our favorite Sunday event: Gospel & Grub. This is where we will go out among the lost AND eat food together. Today, all that are interested will meet up at Mance Buchanon Park for some evangelistic practical application, followed by a meal at a nearby location to discuss the experience. Please prayerfully consider joining us.

Special Members’ Meeting – As a reminder, we will be having a members’ meeting TODAY following service. The only purpose of this meeting will be to vote for the 2021 Pillar Church Budget.

Pillar SWAG – If you’d like to order some Pillar Apparel, now is the time! We have hoodies, t-shirts, and polos in a variety of colors. Please see the available items on the order form at the welcome table. You can pay by check (made out to Pillar w/ a memo note “clothing purchase”) or online with the same memo note. Order forms should go to Jacque Martin.

Ladies’ Christmas Brunch and Candle Exchange – Ladies, mark your calendars! On Saturday, December 11 at 10am we will be gathering in fellowship for a potluck brunch and candle exchange. We will be meeting at Mary Massie’s house. Please contact Kristy Martinez to RSVP and for the address!

Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions.

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the routines below. For more information or to sign up contact:
