Prayer Focus of the Week: The Persecuted Church

Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:7–13 (NKJV)

7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Worship Songs:

It Is Finished

There’s no deed that can redeem us
There’s no rite nor magic word
Only by the work of Jesus
Can salvation be secured

It is finished He has done it
Let your weary heart rejoice
Our redemption is accomplished
Raise a shout with ragged voice
And go bravely into battle
Knowing he has won the war
It is finished lift your head (and weep no more)

There’s no sacrifice to offer
There’s no penance to complete
Freely drink of living water
Without money come and feast

It is finished He has done it
Let your weary heart rejoice
Our redemption is accomplished
Raise a shout with ragged voice
And go bravely into battle
Knowing he has won the war
It is finished lift your head (and weep no more)

And let every sinner rejoice
Hear the dying victor’s cry
Raise up your voice
Sing it out through earth and sky

At the Cross

Oh Lord You’ve searched me
You know my way
Even when I fail You
I know You love me

Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season
I know You love me
I know You love me

At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was shed for me
There’s no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now

You go before me
You shield my way
Your hand upholds me
I know You love me
I know You love me

At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was shed for me
There’s no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now

You tore the veil You made a way
When You said that it is done
You tore the veil You made a way
When You said that it is done

And when the earth fades
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me
I know You love me
I know You love me

Response Song:

Jesus Paid it All

And I hear the Savior say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Lord now indeed I find
Thy pow’r and Thine alone
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Oh praise the One Who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead

Announcements:

Ladies Group – Ladies Group will be meeting this Saturday, April 10th at 10am at the Martin home in Oceanside. Our ladies have been walking through some very engaging and practical material, and this month is no exception. Adri Furtado will help us look at the spiritual discipline of prayer. If you have any questions or need the address, please check the Band App or the weekly email.

Pillar Kids – As restrictions continue to get lifted and many schools are opening back up, we’re looking ahead to when we start moving back inside and opening our own classrooms! We are looking to start training for our Seedlings & Saplings classroom (ages 0-PreK), and potentially our Treehouse class (grades K-5). We’ve had a lot of volunteers move away, so it’s all hands on deck! Would you consider volunteering once a month to help serve the children of Pillar Church? For more information, please contact Kristy Martinez at [email protected].

Life Groups – Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions. Our next session starts up again this week and we have the following options:

Wednesday Nights at the Hills- 7pm, Home of Stephen and Eve Hill, P. Trace facilitating, studying “Reading the Word Together”.

Friday Nights at the Furtados – 7pm, Home of Jerry and Adri Furtado, P. Michael facilitating, sermon-based study.

Please visit Pillar Small Groups to join a group and for more information/addresses.
