By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions.
Our Fall Life Group session will begin on Friday, August 26 at the Massie home 1615 Calle las Casas, Oceanside at 6pm. Whoever is interested in attending a Life Group is invited. We’ll be having dinner together and based on who shows up/has interest we’ll determine whether we will need to divide into more groups and decide additional locations. If you are not on the church’s Band account, please sign up–this is where we post meals and Life Group info.
Come Hungry – NEXT SUNDAY, August 28, please make plans to join us for our last Come Hungry of the Summer! We’ll be holding our Annual Chili Cook-off & Cornhole Tournament right after service here at the school. Make your best chili or cornbread (we have trophies for both) or a side, dessert, or drinks and be ready to play some cornhole. If you have any extra cornhole sets that we can borrow for the tournament, please let Trace know!
Back to School Blessing – Pillar Oceanside will be serving our community by hosting a Back to School Blessing. On Saturday, September 17 several things will happen. First, we will be doing a mini sports camp, followed by a catered lunch, and handing out backpacks filled with school supplies. The event itself will run from 9am-1pm. More than just the event itself, our aim is to build some follow on relationships that may lead to spiritual conversations and disciple-making opportunities. We are also doing this simultaneously with several other like-minded churches at other parks in the area. We will all gather together afterward and celebrate all the Lord did…and there will be cheesecake. Our next training will be September 10th from 9-11am. We still need volunteers specifically in the areas of coaches, assistant coaches, and snack area, Please respond to this email as soon as possible if you are interested in serving!
ManDown 2022 – Within the Praetorian Project, ManDown men’s retreats have been held annually for the last 10 years on the East Coast. This year, that changes as we bring ManDown to Southern California! This 1.5-day event in October will help men to grow in their faith, deepen their love for Christ, and do all kinds of cool man-stuff. The event will join men from all three SoCal Pillar churches as we gather October 21-23 (Friday evening-early Sunday morning) in Idyllwild, CA. Registration is $99. Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the word and genuine fellowship. For more information or to sign up contact:
