Prayer Focus of the Week: Safe Families

Scripture Reading: Galatians 5:13–14 (ESV):

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Adopt-A-Family

Christmas is a time for many families to enjoy food, family and gifts. For some, however, it can be a struggle to put food on the table and gifts under the tree. We have the opportunity to adopt 5 families from Del Rio Elementary. The school has requested gift cards and blankets. We are collecting the following:
(10) – $25 Walmart gift card
(5) – $25 Gas Cards (7-11 recommended)
(5) – $25 Dollar Tree gift card
(10) – Warm blankets

If you are able to purchase any of these items, please let Trace or Kristy know. We will be collecting items through Thursday, December 16th.

Advent & Christmas Eve Service – In the holiday season, we have a unique dichotomy that exists. Here is a season that should be marked by thanksgiving, joy, generosity, appreciation, and love. At the same time, our calendars become overrun with holiday events and activities, our time is spent shopping and spending, and our focus is often on trying to keep our head above water…waiting for things to finally come to an end. This sparks a new sermon series that directs our hearts and minds to the way we should be living as followers of Jesus. Particularly, our attitude toward God and toward others in the advent season. Advent is a time of waiting and expecting. We must wait in anticipation of Jesus’ return with purpose and intentionality. Hence the title of our series: “Waiting with Purpose”. The series culminates with a special Christmas Eve service on December 24th @ 5pm. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family!

Movie Night – The Furtado family will be hosting movie night on December 18th starting around 6pm. They’ll be showing a Classic Family Christmas Movie–bring a chair and a warm jacket. Talk to Jerry or Adri for more info & address.

Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions. This will be the final week before we take a break for the holidays. We will relaunch the groups in mid-January.

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the routines below. For more information or to sign up contact:
