Prayer Focus of the Week: The Praetorian Project

Scripture Reading: 1 John 5:1–5 (ESV)

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Worship Songs:

Desert Song

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame

I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I’ll stand

I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

All of my life in ev’ry season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favour and providence flow
I know I’m filled to be emptied again
The seed I’ve received I will sow

I Worship You Almighty God

I worship You Almighty God
There is none like You
I worship You O Prince of Peace
That is what I want to do
I give You praise
For You are my righteousness
I worship You Almighty God
There is none like You

Announcements:

Men’s Group – Men’s Group will be meeting once again at the Martinez home on March 3rd from 8:30-10am. We are working though the book “Manhood Restored” and we will be looking at chapter 7 this month. If you haven’t joined us yet, you can jump right in and be exposed to some straightforward teaching from our book. If you have any questions, need a book or the address, please contact Trace – (760) 505-0843.

Pillar Kids – As restrictions continue to get lifted and many schools are opening back up, we’re looking ahead to when we start moving back inside and opening our own classrooms! We are looking to start training for our Seedlings & Saplings classroom (ages 0-PreK), and potentially our Treehouse class (grades K-5). We’ve had a lot of volunteers move away, so it’s all hands on deck! Would you consider volunteering once a month to help serve the children of Pillar Church? For more information, please contact Kristy Martinez at [email protected]

Life Groups – Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions. Our next session starts up again this week and we have the following options:

Wednesday Nights at the Hills- 7pm, Home of Stephen and Eve Hill, P. Trace facilitating, studying “Reading the Word Together”.

Friday Nights at the Furtados – 7pm, Home of Jerry and Adri Furtado, P. Michael facilitating, sermon-based study.

Please visit Pillar Small Groups to join a group and for more information/addresses.
