Prayer Focus of the Week: Military Date Night

Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 (ESV)

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 6 If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. 7 Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

Announcements

Military Date Night – We are hosting a Date Night for active duty families on Saturday, May 21st 5:30-8:00pm! The event filled up in less than on hour and we have 20 families registered, plus a waiting list!

We need volunteers for the event! If you are able to help please speak to Trace or Kristy.

Members Meeting – TODAY we will be holding our quarterly members meeting  following service, and we’ll be having a potluck style lunch. This meeting is for those who are official members of the church and those who are in the membership process as well.

Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions.

Life Groups will wrap up for the school year on May 2oth.

Here are our groups:

Friday Nights in San Onofre – Hosted and facilitated by the Rynishes, north side of Camp Pendleton, Discovery Bible Study, 6pm, potluck meal

Friday Nights in Oceanside – Hosted and facilitated by the Massies, Oceanside, studying through the Sermon on the Mount, 6pm, potluck meal

Giving – There are several ways to give at Pillar Church. Click here to give online, or you may drop your offering in the box located on the Welcome Table. Thank you for your contribution!

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the word and genuine fellowship. For more information or to sign up contact:
