Prayer Focus of the Week: Del Rio Elementary School

Scripture Reading: Colossians 1:1-8 (ESV)

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father. 3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf 8 and has made known to us your love in the Spirit.

Worship Songs:

You Never Let Go

Even though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle
Of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back I know You are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear
Whom then shall I fear

Oh no You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no You never let go
In ev’ry high and ev’ry low
Oh no You never let go
Lord You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming
For the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth

Oh no You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no You never let go
In ev’ry high and ev’ry low
Oh no You never let go
Lord You never let go of me

Yes I can see a light
That is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You
Still I will praise You

10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)

Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Bless the Lord O my soul O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

Announcements:

Baptism – We are excited to announce that on May 23rd, we will be holding a baptism celebration as a part of our Sunday gathering. This is open to anyone that has not yet been baptized. At Pillar, we believe the Bible teaches a believer’s baptism by being immersed in water. In other words, this is a person making a conscious decision of obedience to follow after Jesus’ example and making their faith public through baptism. For more information on baptism or to signup for a baptism class, please speak to an elder ASAP.

Pillar Kids – As restrictions continue to get lifted and many schools are opening back up, we’re looking ahead to when we start moving back inside and opening our own classrooms! We will be opening our Seedlings & Saplings classroom (ages 0-PreK), and potentially our Treehouse class (grades K-5). We’ve had a lot of volunteers move away, so it’s all hands on deck! Would you consider volunteering once a month to help serve the children of Pillar Church? For those already on the team and those that will be joining, we will be having a training meeting on June 12th at 10am, so please save the date! For more information, please contact Kristy Martinez at [email protected] or 760-505-2928.

Life Groups – Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions. Our next session starts up again this week and we have the following options:

Wednesday Nights at the Hills- 7pm, Home of Stephen and Eve Hill, P. Trace facilitating, studying “Reading the Word Together”.

Friday Nights at the Furtados – 7pm, Home of Jerry and Adri Furtado, P. Michael facilitating, sermon-based study.

Please visit Pillar Small Groups to join a group and for more information/addresses.

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the routines below. For more information or to sign up, contact:
