Prayer Focus of the Week: Community

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10 (ESV)

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Announcements

Leadership Team Meeting – Our leadership team meeting is today, 30 October, after service. We will meet in the MPR over lunch with ministry leaders, team leaders, deacons, and elders to look to the future. We will also be joined by potential new leaders that may join our team.

Big Sunday & Location Change – Next Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, which means it’s BIG Sunday! It’s a family service and also a potluck breakfast. This particular Big Sunday is special in that it’s our last one for the fall/winter season, and it will be in a different location than usual. Because the school is being used as an Election Polling Location, we will be in the back parking lot under the huge tree. This link will get you there: DIRECTIONS

Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions.

Our Fall Life Group session is at the Massie home, 1615 Calle Las Casas in Oceanside, at 6pm every Friday and we’ll be studying through select Old Testament books. Please check BAND for more details. If you are not on the church’s Band account, please sign up–this is where we post meals and Life Group info.

Giving – There are several ways to give at Pillar Church. Click here to give online, or you may drop your offering in the box located on the Welcome Table. Thank you for your contribution!

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the word and genuine fellowship. For more information or to sign up contact:
