5 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. 2 Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. Blockout Dates -If you are serving or plan on serving at Pillar Church over the next 3 months, we ask that you go into Planning Center or the Services app and enter any blockout dates you may have during October, November, and December. We need all blockout dates in by Tuesday, September 13th, so we can work on schedules. If you have not received a blockout date email or have not signed up for Planning Center/Services yet, please contact Kristy Martinez at (760) 505-2928 or [email protected]. If you aren’t serving yet but would like to, please let one of the elders or ministry leaders know!
Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions.
Our Fall Life Group session is at the Massie home, 1615 Calle Las Casas in Oceanside, at 6pm every Friday. We’ll be having dinner together and studying the book of James. If you are not on the church’s Band account, please sign up–this is where we post meals and Life Group info.
Back to School Blessing – Pillar Oceanside will be serving our community by hosting a Back to School Blessing. On Saturday, September 17 several things will happen. First, we will be doing a mini sports camp, followed by a catered lunch, and handing out backpacks filled with school supplies. The event itself will run from 9am-1pm. More than just the event itself, our aim is to build some follow on relationships that may lead to spiritual conversations and disciple-making opportunities. We are also doing this simultaneously with several other like-minded churches at other parks in the area. We will all gather together afterward and celebrate all the Lord did…and there will be cheesecake. We would love your help during this event. Please talk to Pastor Trace if you are interested in volunteering.
ManDown 2022 – Within the Praetorian Project, ManDown men’s retreats have been held annually for the last 10 years on the East Coast. This year, that changes as we bring ManDown to Southern California! This 1.5-day event in October will help men to grow in their faith, deepen their love for Christ, and do all kinds of cool man-stuff. The event will join men from all three SoCal Pillar churches as we gather October 21-23 (Friday evening-early Sunday morning) in Idyllwild, CA. Registration is $99. Payment options are available, full balance due by October 15. Registration is now open! Click here to register.

Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin. Fight Clubs strive to meet at least twice a month for an intentional, focused time devoted to the word and genuine fellowship. For more information or to sign up contact:
