–Scripture Reading: James 5:7-12 (ESV)
7 Be patient, therefore, brothers,[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. 10 As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. 12 But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

Life Groups – Our Life Groups play a significant role in the life of believers. As their name suggests, we are literally “doing life” with one another. It’s in these smaller groups where relationships are deepened and the opportunity for biblical fellowship increases from Sunday morning interactions.
Our Fall Life Group session is at the Massie home, 1615 Calle Las Casas in Oceanside, at 6pm every Friday. We’ll be having dinner together and studying the book of James. If you are not on the church’s Band account, please sign up–this is where we post meals and Life Group info.
ManDown 2022 – Within the Praetorian Project, ManDown men’s retreats have been held annually for the last 10 years on the East Coast. This year, that changes as we bring ManDown to Southern California! This 1.5-day event in October will help men to grow in their faith, deepen their love for Christ, and do all kinds of cool man-stuff. The event will join men from all three SoCal Pillar churches as we gather October 21-23 (Friday evening-early Sunday morning) in Idyllwild, CA. Registration is $99. Fight Clubs are same-gender groups of about three people encouraging each other to live a life aligned with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal is to love Jesus more, through our affection for him and our allegiance to him, by helping each other rehearse the gospel and fight sin.
